They are fixed deep in the skin and cause cysts and nodules leading to severe acne. Clogged pores can give rise to undesirable skin conditions such as milia, the benign keratin filled cysts which appear under the skin on the roof of the mouth. Clogging of skin pores is caused by many factors such as excess production of oil by the sebaceous glands, accumulation of dead cells on the skin, dehydration of skin, over use of cosmetics or skin care products, excessive sweating, hereditary factors, improper cleansing, accumulation of dirt, allergic reactions, excess intake of sugar, etc. The natural functioning of the skin like breathing, secretion of oil, exfoliation of dead cells, absorption of moisture, etc is affected by these clogged pores. This affects the look of the skin, which gets dull with time.
Treatment for Clogged Pores on Nose and Chin
Parsley:
Wash a handful of fresh parsley and put it in a big bowl. Pour 8 oz. of boiling water over the parsley and allow the mixture steep until it is hardly warm. Strain the liquid, soak a cloth in it and put the compress on the face for 15 minutes. Repeat the treatment one time daily.
Facial:
A facial will clear the pores of all the dirt, grime and pollution that the skin faces everyday and it is done in a safe and gentle manner. Facials deeply clean clogged pores and relax the skin. Poking, picking and prodding should only be done by a certified aesthetician so don’t try to pick blemishes at home and never use dirty fingernails to pop pimples.
Baking Soda:
Take 1/4 cup of baking soda into a bowl and add warm water to make a paste. Spread a thin and even layer of baking soda paste on the face and let it for about five minutes. Rinse the paste off with apple cider vinegar, then with warm water. Use a cotton ball to apply vitamin E oil to the face and leave the oil on skin all night.
Lemon:
Cut a lemon and squeeze the juice onto a cotton ball and swipe it across the face. Let the skin dry and then rinse with cold water. Lemon juice is great for cleaning pores. Lemon juice contains natural antiseptics and detoxifying effects, which are helpful to the skin and lemon juice also decrease oil content, the look of brown spots and exfoliates skin.
Burdock Root:
Place one to two handfuls of the dried root in a saucepan and then top it with two cups of water. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then lower the heat and simmer it for 10 minutes. Soak a clean cloth in the liquid and use it as a facial compress for 15 minutes or until it cools. Repeat the treatment daily.
Alcohol Pads:
Apply an alcohol pad after washing the face. Wipe the pad over entire face. The alcohol will remove oil and clean out clogged pores.
Thyme:
Take 4 tbsp. of dried thyme into a bowl and pour 1 1/2 cups of boiling water above the herb. Steep the mixture for 30 minutes, strain it and store it in a glass bottle in the refrigerator. Use the mixture every morning and evening to rinse the face.
Drink water:
Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily. Water is one of the most significant fluids. It helps the skin to retain its elasticity, which aides in its healing properties and self repair.
Wash the face:
Use a mild cleanser obtainable in drug stores such as Cetaphil or a medicated regimen like Proactive. A proper cleansing regimen will leave the pores clean and unblocked. Wash the face twice a day.
Microdermabrasion:
To decrease the appearance of pores, Microdermabrasion roughens up the skin. This loosens dead skin that is known to clog pores. The skin becomes smoother due to collagen that gets stimulated.
Astringent:
Take a cotton ball and pour astringent on it. Wipe it over the area in the morning and at night.
Steam:
Boil water into a kettle and dump the hot water into a large bowl. Hold the head over the steam, sealing the steam in with a large towel. Steam the face for 15 minutes and pat it dry.
Moisturize:
The correct moisturizing regimen will make the skin less vulnerable to almost all acne conditions. Use oil free moisturizers and try a few different types to see what mixture of washing and moisturizing works best for you.
Protect the skin from the sun:
The sun prematurely ages skin, drying it out and removing its natural elasticity, which all lead directly to clogged pores and bacteria growth. Every time before going outside use an oil-free moisturizer with a high SPF.
Exfoliation treatment:
Alpha hydroxy and beta hydroxy acids both are beneficial. They exfoliate to prevent dead skin cells from building up and clogging pores. While alpha hydroxy acid is water soluble only, beta hydroxy acid is oil soluble, so it is able to actually seep into the sebum-packed pore, exfoliating the dead skin cells built up inside.
Skip Foundation:
Where pores are enlarged avoid applying foundation to those areas. Foundation enlarges their look and calls more attention to pores. Choose instead for a blemish control powder or a neutral blotting powder applied directly to any areas where pores appear larger. The powder will serve to diffuse the look of the pores.
Other remedies:
- Avoid products that have oils such as lotions from the local stores and other cosmetics. Use products that are Non-Comedogenic.
- Keep skin hydrated with the Hydrator gel to soften and loosen pore plugs.
- Specially designed deep cleansing facial mask to clean clogged pores can be used. There are two types of masks, ‘rinse off’ and ‘peel off’. Use of any of these masks is effective to clear clogged pores and promote a healthier skin.
- Use a facial scrub to exfoliate the skin twice a week.
- Use Serum at least twice a day to soften and decrease clogged pores and blackheads.
- Use cotton balls, a skin conditioner or an alcohol free toner when cleansing the pores. Scrub gently and smooth so that the skin layers do not damage.
- Mask a few times a week to purge pores and remove toxins.
- In diet, include fruits and vegetables that have high water content. Water based moisturizer can be used instead of an oily based moisturizer. Using a face toner or astringent is also beneficial, as it helps in preventing clogged pores. Regular use of the toner will yield the desired result.
- Avoid touching face with dirty hands. In order to wipe off the sweat or dirt, make use of clean tissues. Wet tissues may be used to clear the oil or dirt sticking on the face.
- Avoid refined sugar and drink lots of filtered water.
- Avoid wearing heavy makeup when going out. Wear makeup just to hide the flaws on the face.
