It can be made with one or more scoops of ice cream in either a soft drink or a mixture of flavored syrup and carbonated water that ends up as a fizzy slurry drink. As a result of the ice cream interacting with the soda water, foaminess is produced. The chocolate ice cream soda is the most popular, prepared with either chocolate ice cream or vanilla. Generally, it is served in a tall glass, with both a long-handled spoon and tall straws. Ice cream soda is prepared by various methods but they all involve actual soda water, which both take the edge off the sweetness of the drink, and makes it foamy.
The first ice cream soda recipe came in to existence accidently at the Philadelphia Exposition in October of 1874. After that, Robert M. Green invented the familiar ice cream soda. “Cream soda” was called as very well liked by soda fountain regulars, it became related with the first ice cream soda recipes.
