Pomegranates are high in polyphenols which has neuroprotective effect. Moreover, pomegranate has been shown to prolong the life of nitric oxide (a vasodilator compound) in the body, the blood vessels may remain wider for longer therefore decreasing the risk of ischemia.

    I just finished reading elsewhere that one pomegranite has approximately 25 grams of sugar in it. that equals 6 teaspoons of sugar. now how in the name of the wizard of oz is eating one of these suppose to help reduce glucose levels in a diabetic.
    is this really and truely fact? or fiction?
