Helpful Home Remedies in Menstrual Stomach Pain

Every woman experiences stomach pain during menstruation but the intensity of it varies from woman to woman.   • Parsley juice combined with carrot juice, cucumber juice, or beet juice will also be helpful in reducing the pain caused due to menstrual cycles.
  • Marigold is also effective to relieve the pain during menstrual cycles. Only consume one teaspoon of marigold.
  • When it comes to curing menstrual cramps, coriander seeds are very effective. Prepare coriander water by boiling approximately 4 to 5 grams of coriander seeds in 500 ml of water on low heat. Let the water to boil until half of its content reduced. You can add three teaspoons of sugar in it for giving sweet taste. Drink this water while it is still warm.
  • To treat menstrual problems, ginger is also very effective. Take a small piece of ginger and grind it in 250 ml of water. Bring water to the boil and add a teaspoon of sugar to it. To experience effective relief, drink it after each meal.
  • Grind drumstick leaves and extract juice from it. During your period, drink this juice early in the morning daily on an empty stomach. This will help you to prevent menstrual cramps and make sure you have a pain free period.

  • Basil contains a pain-killing component named caffeic acid that helps to relieve menstrual stomach pain. You can use it in cooking and also steep the basil in a tea. In one pint of boiling water, add two tablespoons of basil leaves; cover it tightly and let the blend to cool at room temperature. To ease your cramps, sip ½ to one cup of the basil tea each hour.
  • Papaya is also helpful to treat menstrual problems. It helps in appropriate functioning of the muscles of the uterus and thus helps in proper flow of blood during menstrual period.
  • Banana is also useful during the menstruation. Women who suffer from severe bleeding and pain in the stomach and back should take banana leaf cooked in little oil with curd.

During menstruation, taking over-the-counter medications like ibuprofen and Tylenol can also help to ease menstrual stomach pains. Ibuprofen is the best pain reliever to take while suffering from menstrual cramps; it inhibits the formation of prostaglandins responsible for muscle cramps and pain.
